Bob Cohen, 86 years old, has had enough, he’s moving on.
Bob has spent the past SIX DECADES at the SAME JOB as Interpublic’s McCann-Erickson’s chief forecaster. Bob joined the agency, in 1948, as a ‘whippersnapper’ at the tender age of 21 years of age during the Truman presidency. Yet don’t count Bob out, for the New York Times reports today that Bob “will remain on as an adviser to Magna”, the division where McCann’s media arm has landed.
Bob was the agency’s soothsayer in predicting trends regarding media spending habits, a volitile field in itself. Hence, his tenure is an even more remarkable feat. I’d love to see the 60 year stats on his accuracy over the years; I guess he must have had a winning average, right?
